– Ian Chin, an amateur tenor, an internet veteran with almost 20 years of internet start-ups and technology innovation experience in China. He started his first internet venture in Shanghai during 1998. He was the founding team member of Myrice.com, an internet portal, inspired millions of user to started their own personal homepage built with the online homepage tools and hosting services provided by Myrice. Myrice was acquired by Lycos Asia in 2001.

– Ian continue his role as industry mentor after the acquisition. He was invited to join the business incubator of Taiwan Nation Chung Hsing University in 2002. Ian was awarded “incubator manager of the year 2005” by the Ministry of Economics in Taiwan. Ian became the mentor and coach of over 100 start-ups and have graduated over 15 of them with their seed fund raised during they were still the tenants of the incubator. Later in 2006, Ian became the CEO of Wealink.com, a Chinese version of LinkedIn, in the early era of web 2.0, Ian was recognized by China Business News as the top 15 most important industry pioneer of Web 2.0 in China.

– In 2008, Ian became the VP of Shanghai Media Group’s subsidiary BesTV (now known as Oriental Pearl New Media Group), Ian led a team with over 100 staffs boosted BesTV’s IPTV subscribers from 2 million to 20 million. Ian was appointed as the COO of BesTV in 2012, in charge of the IPTV operation in 23 provinces in China which facilitate BesTV to go public in Shanghai Stock Exchange, during the same period of time. Ian demonstrated great leadership in the internet and new media industry. Shanghai Municipal Government awarded Ian “White Magnolia Medal”, a recognition for prestigious contribution as a foreign executive to the city and the business community. Ian left BesTV in 2015 and become an angel investor and become the founding team of several start-ups. As a lifetime technopreneur and innovation evangelist. Ian continues his journey on culture, media and new technology frontiers.
