From October to November 2025, Dmitri Alexeev, the legendary exponent of the Russian piano school, embarked on his six-city China tour, gracing the stages of Shanghai, Guangzhou, Beijing, Yancheng, Hangzhou and Xiamen. During the tour, the maestro, in his late seventies, not only delivered insightful masterclasses but also presented a repertoire of Romantic-era masterpieces by Rachmaninoff, Chopin and Liszt. With his textbook-perfect virtuosity, he interpreted the profound elegance and masterful balance of power and delicacy inherent in the Russian piano style. The tour has been greeted with packed houses and rave reviews wherever he performed, treating Chinese audiences to a soul-stirring classical music experience in the late autumn.
