Maestro Penderecki’s birthday tour, from October 17th to 31st, was a great success. During the first part of the tour, Maestro Penderecki, together with violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter and the Sinfonia Varsovia performed Dvorak Symphony No.7 (conducted by Maestro Penderecki), Penderecki La Follia for violin solo and Violin Concerto No.2 “Metamorphosen”,(conducted by Polish conductor Maciej Tworek). Concerts took place at the National Centre for the Performing Arts (Beijing), the Henan Poly Art Center (Zhengzhou), the Shanghai Oriental Arts Center, the Changsha Concert Hall, the Banlam Grand Theatre (Xiamen) and the Fuzhou Strait Cultural Art Center.
During the final two days of the tour, violinist Yu-Chien (Benny) Tseng joined the orchestra and played Penderecki Violin Concerto No.1 under the baton of Maestro Maciej Tworek at the Wuhan Qintai Grand Theatre and the Zhuzhou Poly Theatre.
